The answer is a bit complicated, but some of the additions are apparent. While it remains unclear why exactly there are seven and eight-core versions, this appears to be the only difference listed between the SoCs, which include the CPU, GPU, and Neural core. The MacBook Air with the least storage lists a seven-core GPU, while the same machine with more storage shows the same eight-core GPU as the MacBook Pro.
